Courier Review

Thank you NetGalley, Xpresso Book Tours, Lighthouse Books, and Zoe Rosi for the Audio ARC in exchange for an honest review of the content.

Courier is a short, psychological thriller that will have you unsettled from the beginning. Bob, a local courier in Hastings, has set his eyes on Natalie. The beautiful woman he notices when delivering a package to her residence. The only problem? Natalie is married to a bad man, and Bob is determined to get the girl – no matter what it takes.

Now, my review..

The positives:

  • This book had my skin crawling from the beginning. It takes a very talented writer to write something that feels so chilling and realistic without any music or visuals like movies/shows have.
  • Andy Stevenson, the narrator, did a great job of bringing the characters to life. I think he was a great choice for this book.
  • This whole story felt very believable. Sometimes thrillers can lose their believability to me with how absurd things can get. The characters, the setting, the plot – it was all so unsettling
  • The imagery that Zoe created through certain phrases was top notch. I could see the story perfectly, which I struggle with sometimes.
  • I really liked how the author incorporated some light humor into the story like this. It made Bob feel more human.

The negatives:

  • Honestly, there was nothing I didn’t like. In the beginning of the book I didn’t love how “icky” it made me feel. But I think that is a testament to a good writer and not a negative.

Overall, I really enjoyed Courier and would recommend it to anyone who likes this genre. I will be looking into more books from Zoe Rosi
